6/15/2002 -- Harry Turner suggests this: "Elaborate - July 14 Picketts' Annual Bastille Day reenactment." On eassumes Emily is taking the role of Madame LaFarge.

According to The Commodore, it's 1939. Herbert and Emily: one knits, the other sharpens. I remember that sharpening wheel, but never recall Emily in such a pair of sunglasses.
